The first episode in a new podcast series, my interview with Dr. Michael Heiser covers the trend of “unhitching” the Old Testament from our Christian faith. Dr. Heiser argues for the incoherence of a Christianity without the Old Testament and gives his own view of the rationale for the violence described in the Old Testament regarding the Canaanite conquest.

Dr. Michael Heiser is a Bible scholar who received his Ph.D. in Hebrew and Semitic Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is the scholar-in-residence at Logos Bible Software. He’s also the host of The Naked Bible podcast and the author of books including The Unseen Realm and Reversing Hermon. He does an amazing job bringing the cookies down to a lower shelf, so to speak, by helping lay people to understand scholarly level discussion of the Bible. You can find out more about him at
