This week, the Consig made an executive decision & had a sit down with the boys. THIS IS THE SHOW. No guest. No bullshit. All heart. Dave, Carl and Neuby air all family business with the “For the Boys” edition of the Cash Considerations Show.
Everyone knows there were five families in “The Godfather.” In their first CC sit down meeting, each guy gives you their family story, in their words, on their terms. Where you from, who you are, how the hell did you get here? Everybody has a story, and this one is all about the boys.
Carl starts things off. The oldest of three, CH is a Boston guy with a New England accent that only is heard at night. After a storied JV basketball career along with some baseball exploits, Carl went from playing to coaching. A dad with two sons, Coach Carl coached baseball and was the best hockey mom ever. He left one comment on the show, and now he is the co-host/coordinating producer/social media manager/email guy of the show. Not a bad play by CH.
Neuby is next up on the mic. The youngest of five, it took him awhile to get started, but man, can Neuby talk. Even in his storied football career, Noobs took kicks from his big sister and kept getting up. Nobody puts Nooby in a corner, but the girls did dress him up and paint his nails once. In addition to hosting a show called Bet On Lacrosse and production work on Wagertalk, everybody’s favorite is the co-host/executive producer of the CC show. No Neuby mush here.
Then, it’s Dave’s turn. One question, one story, one time. The full “I had a stroke” story, in it’s entirety. It’s about family, a father & a son, a dad and his daughters. Powerful to hear in his voice, Dave is blessed, lucky & grateful, the words he used to describe his daughters before he strutted out of the hospital nine months ago. He is our quarterback and co-host of the CC show.
With the family business out of the way, the boys got to the sports. First it is NBA. You know what time it is..time to PLAY THE SONG!! Neuby calls the gentleman’s sweep in Hawks-Sixers, Carl reiterates #AnybodyButTheNets, and Dave says it’s all chalk in the West.
The “Pulling the Goalie” playoff edition is welcomed in with a new song for Bruins fans. Dave & CH run the power play as the Cup run continues with four teams, including the Vegas Golden Knights. Can the Isles beat the Ning? Will the Habs get a game from VGK? It’s quick, it’s fast and it’s a full line change to baseball. Bon dia, bon tardi, bon noche. Back to the dugout to find the mailbag.
Lastly, the coordinating producer/social media manager/co host Carl H-A-S-C-A-L-L went to the listeners for questions on the “Carl’s Corner” segment of the show. Send us your best questions via Twitter or email, and the best ones get asked on the show. Dave went from Pittsburgh to Penn State to Curacao to Vegas. Neuby had some great answers while Carl kept them coming. Mayo takes, Circa contests & fantasy football. Show shout outs, yes, Carl nailing the read, no, CH kept the show moving.
As it always does, The Take a Minute segment closed the show on Cash Considerations. Carl has a poker night of all time, Uncle Neuby says being a parent is tougher than it looks, and Dave talked about a weekly card game that Big E dubbed Kindergarten.
Sit back, listen in & laugh a bunch to this Family Business For the Boys, June episode of the Cash Considerations podcast.
