Dabei gebe es laut Alexander Krützfeld, Buchautor und Mitgleid der Szene, unterschiedliche Antriebe in ihr, die sich grob in Business, also in die Erwartung des „Next Big Things“, in Aufmerksamkeit und in künstlerische Ambitionen gliedern lassen. In Deutschland gibt es heute ca. 100 Biohacker, aber die Zukunft werde uns alle zu Cyborgs machen – aus medizinischen oder anderen Gründen.
