Justice Recap
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." ~ Micah 6:8
Christians have every reason to seek justice for everyone in every situation.
Six observations:
1. God loves justice and hates injustice. (Isaiah 61:8)
2. Jesus reveals God's heart. (Colossians 1:15)
3. Jesus loves the hurting. (Luke 4:14-21)
4. Followers of Jesus seek justice. (James 1:26-27)
5. The enemy seeks to destroy justice. (John 10:10)
6. God is in control. (Genesis 18:23-25)
Eight suggestions:
1. Thou shalt lament injustice. (Amos 5)
2. Thou shalt celebrate justice. (Zechariah 7:8-10)
3. Thou shalt love thy neighbor. (Luke 10:25-37)
4. Thou shalt show impartiality. (James 2:1-13)
5. Thou shalt stand up for what is right even when others do not. (Exodus 23:2)
6. Thou shalt speak the truth with humility. (Isaiah 1:16-18)
7. Thou shalt seek the well-being of the city. (Jeremiah 29:8)
8. Thou shalt lean into the discomfort. (Micah 6:8)
Next Steps:
1. Act justly.
2. Love mercy.
3. Walk humbly.
