This Sunday we continue our series on "REFRESH" as we encourage everyone to come and invite others to our "Back to Church Sundays." It's time for a "time of refreshing." If you aren't very familiar with Bible stories, you might think it is full of perfect people, perfect prophets, perfect families, and perfect churches. You might have the impression it is full of stories about people who have perfect lives and always do the right thing. It's actually quite the opposite! Actually, the Bible is full of stories of people who were broken and made bad decisions, sometimes even with disastrous consequences. The truth is the Bible is full of stories about second, third, forth, etc., chances to return to God. That is precisely why we do church in north Knoxville. God continues to chase after the runaways! He is a missionary God, pursuing you! It gives us all hope! Maybe you have been running away from God. Perhaps running away from your responsibilities as a Christ-follower and even running away from His church. I have some great news! It's good news! You can come and be refreshed this Sunday! It's time to refresh your spiritual life, and we are having "Back to Church Sundays" and exploring what God says through the stories of the Bible about returning to God! Maybe you come every week! You can even run from God in a church pew! Come be refreshed! Maybe you haven't been in a while. Come be refreshed! Don't be a runaway any longer! Come hear about the runaway prophet by the name of Jonah who took off in the opposite direction of God's call in his life. This disobedient, unwilling prophet is captured by God's grace and returns to His God! What a Savior!
