“We thank God always for you because your faith flourishes ever more, and the love of every one of you for one another grows ever greater. 4 Accordingly, we ourselves boast of you in the churches of God regarding your endurance and faith in all your persecutions and the afflictions you endure. 39 The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent,“But the blind man kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me!” “7 When they all saw this, they began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to stay at the house of a sinner.” “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.” 6 And he came down quickly and received him with joy “Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone I shall repay it four times over.” 16 Now someone approached him and said, “Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?”[l If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 20 [o]The young man said to him, “All of these I have observed. What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect,[p] go, sell what you have and give to [the] poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions. 23 [q]Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Exodus 20 – I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 You shall not have other gods beside me. Saint Paul in Philippians 3 says “I consider everything as a loss because of the supreme good of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things and I consider them so much rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him,”
