In this episode, we uncover the underexplored effects of weight loss on relationships. As a professional assisting individuals preparing for weight loss journeys, I have observed dramatic shifts in relationship dynamics. Dealing with everything from increased confidence and attention to discomfort and past trauma, I probe into how shedding weight can be a double-edged sword.

The influence extends to romantic relationships as well, with different impacts on long-term relationships vs newer ones.

A key factor is opening up discussions about physical and personal changes pre-weight loss to preemptively address relationship changes.

Delving into 'weight conflict', I explore how drastic weight loss can sometimes lead to self-sabotage out of discomfort with changes in the body and personality.

Adding to this struggle, I discuss the influence of friends and family comments, who may trigger doubts in the achiever, urging them to halt the weight loss process.

Recognising that weight loss journeys are distinct for every individual, I emphasize that with the right help and support, not only can weight loss be successful, but relationships can also improve as a result.
