Welcome back to another episode of Chasing the Apex. Today I’m sitting down with Ernie Francis Jr. Ernie started his professional racing career in 2013, racing with the Breathless Racing team run by his father in the Trans Am series. With 7 consecutive series titles under his belt in the Trans Am series, Ernie also competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with MBM Motorsports in 2017 and in the Formula Regional Americas Championship in 2021. However, one of Ernie’s most significant career moments thus far was bringing home a race win at Lucas Oil Raceway in the SRX series. He credits this win as one of the reasons he received his latest opportunity, racing in the Indy Lights series with Force Indy, a team established with the goal of bringing greater diversity and inclusion to motorsports.
