The 2017 MLB All-Star Game and all the surround festivities have came and went. Chip and Cern share their thoughts on the game, Home Run Derby, line-ups, Cern and Tony’s All-Star Game experience in 2007 and more. There is also a really solid Brady Anderson tangent. The show opens with Chip and Cern talking about how they don’t do any show prep, which everyone knows already. In 2007, Tony and Cern took a week off work for the 2007 All-Star Game at AT&T Park. They stayed the entire week at Chip’s apartment and it was a great time. Home Run Derby was top notch, Cern shook Cal Ripken’s hand, Tony Gwynn (RIP, RIP) and more. The Home Run Derby changed the game play rules a few years back and it has really improved the game. The lineup for the 2017 Home Run Derby is and the results are included: American League Miguel Sano — Minnesota Twins, 21 HRs Aaron Judge — New York Yankees, 30 HRs Gary Sanchez — New York Yankees,13 HRs Mike Moustakas — Kansas City Royals, 25 HRs National League Giancarlo Stanton — Miami Marlins, 26 HRs Cody Bellinger — Los Angeles Dodgers, 25 HRs Justin Bour — Miami Marlins, 20 HRs Charlie Blackmon — Colorado Rockies, 21 HRs Here is the 2017 MLB All-Star Game Lineup: American League Starters First Base: Justin Smoak, Toronto Blue Jays Second Base: Jose Altuve, Houston Astros Shortstop: Carlos Correa, Houston Astros Third Base: Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Indians Catcher: Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals Outfielder: Aaron Judge, New York Yankees Outfielder: Mookie Betts*, Boston Red Sox (*replaced Mike Trout in the AL starting lineup) Outfielder: George Springer, Houston Astros Designated Hitter: Corey Dickerson, Tampa Bay Rays Pitchers: SP Chris Sale, BOS SP Dallas Keuchel, HOU SP Ervin Santana, MIN SP Jason Vargas, KC SP Luis Severino, NYY SP Yu Darvish** ,TEX SP Michael Fulmer**, DET SP Corey Kluber**, CLE SP Lance McCullers Jr., HOU RP Craig Kimbrel, BOS RP Andrew Miller, CLE RP Dellin Betances, NYY SP Chris Archer***, TB RP Chris Devenski***, HOU RP Brandon Kintzler***, MIN RP Roberto Osuna***,TOR * Injured ** Starting on Sunday so unable to pitch in ASG *** Replacement RESERVES C Gary Sanchez, NYY 1B Yonder Alonso, OAK 2B Starlin Castro**,NYY 2B Jonathan Schoop, BAL 2B Robinson Cano***, SEA 3B Miguel Sano, MIN 3B Mike Moustakas*, KC SS Francisco Lindor, CLE OF Avisail Garcia, CWS OF Michael Brantley, CLE OF Justin Upton***, DET DH Nelson Cruz, SEA * "Final Vote" winner in AL ** Injured *** Replacement National League Starters First Base: Ryan Zimmerman, Washington Nationals Second Base: Daniel Murphy, Washington Nationals Shortstop: Zack Cozart, Cincinnati Reds Third Base: Nolan Arenado, Colorado Rockies Catcher: Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants Outfielder: Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals Outfielder: Charlie Blackmon, Colorado Rockies Outfielder: Marcell Ozuna, Miami Marlins Pitchers: SP Clayton Kershaw*, LAD SP Max Scherzer, WSH SP Robbie Ray, ARI SP Zack Greinke, ARI SP Carlos Martinez, STL SP Stephen Strasburg, WSH RP Kenley Jansen, LAD RP Greg Holland, COL RP Wade Davis, CHC RP Brad Hand, SD RP Corey Knebel, MIL RP Pat Neshek, PHI SP Alex Wood**,LAD * Starting Sunday so unable to pitch ** Replacement RESERVES C Yadier Molina, STL 1B Paul Goldschmidt, ARI 1B Joey Votto, CIN 2B DJ LeMahieu, COL 2B Josh Harrison, PIT 3B Jake Lamb, ARI 3B Justin Turner*, LAD SS Corey Seager, LAD OF Cody Bellinger, LAD OF Giancarlo Stanton, MIA OF Michael Conforto, NYM OF Ender Inciarte, ATL * "Final Vote" winner in NL Chip then poses the question to Cern about what % of MLB players are using PED’s. Cern estimates 10% and Chip would co-sign this. This throws Chip and Cern into a Brady Anderson tangent. Chip gives Stat Boy Dana some props on a fantasy baseball battle which didn’t end well for Chip. How did your picks for the Home Run Derby go? How did Chip and Cern’s picks go for the All-Star game?
