109: 5 Traps to Avoid when You Feel Like that Nobody Loves You (Clubhouse Mastermind)
Manage episode 302688504 series 2837772
What do we mean by the thought "Nobody loves me"? We may feel:
- unwanted
- like no one cares
- unlovable
- isolated and alone in our suffering and grief
- abandoned
- out of the loop
AVOID THESE 5 TRAPS:
To work our way out of this toxic thought we we get “stuck” there, we must learn to identify the feeling and the thoughts surrounding it and then learn to feel the feeling instead of:
- Seeking distraction or avoiding the issues
- Looking for a quick fix for finding “comfort”
- Deciding to squash the feeling, just “suck it up”
- Internalizing the feeling
- escaping in a book, work, tv, or general busyness
How do we then feel the feeling that results when we think nobody loves us? How do we process through this feeling?
- Give yourself permission to feel
- Meet with a counselor
- Be honest with self
- Cry
- Be still
- Slow down
- Accept and expect discomfort
- Keep an emotions/feelings journal
- Cheer yourself on
- Give yourself a break - it’s okay to break down
- Pour out heart and soul
- Accept a big hug from Jesus
- Ask Him to reveal Himself to you
- Admit areas of unbelief
- Recognize God’s love for you daily
- Keep your focus on loving others more than your desire to be loved (St. Francis of Assisi)

Target Scriptures:
2 Cor. 10 3-5
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
