Luke 14: 1 – 24. As we come closer to the end of our evening series of dinning with the Lord, we come across another meal Jesus has which gets us to think of our pride. When we look in the mirror, do we say, ‘I deserve to be at the Lord’s table’, because of a list of our good deeds, status in society, etc? Humility is what every Christian needs and to explain what this looks like, Luke uses both a meal Jesus has with the Pharisees and a parable Jesus taught. The message of this passage is strikingly simple, yet hard hitting; be willing to place others before yourself.
