New Year's, 2025: "Soul Care is Discipleship" Hebrews 10:24-25Life Together (vv.24-25 a-b)- Call to Hospitality1 Pet. 4:7,9 "The end of all things is at hand… Show hospitality to one another without grumbling." Because that's what church life together should look like.Ro. 12:13 "Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality." Care for One Another (v.25 c-d)Gal. 6:1-2 1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 1 Thess. 5:14 "we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted (depressed), help the weak, be patient with them all."2 Tim. 3:16-17 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God[b] may be complete, equipped for every good work.5 Things They never say….- They never mention God - especially Jesus and the HS, the comforter.- They never mention our spiritual condition (sin).- They never mention that suffering is meaningful within God's plan of mercy and judgment.- They never mention that God really does forgive sinners who repent and believe in his Son.
