Konflikte zwischen aufmüpfigen Schülern und durchsetzungsschwachen Lehrern sind seit jeher ein beliebtes Filmklischee – für COMMANDO-Regisseur Mark Lester ist das sogar Auftakt für eine Gewaltspirale, die sich gewaschen hat. In CLASS OF 1984 (USA 1982, dt. Die Klasse von 1984) ist es der idealistische Lehrer Norris, dessen Auseinandersetzung mit dem halbstarken Gang-Anführer Stegman eskaliert. Michi und Niels sind im Gespräch uneins, ob sich hinter dem ehemals indizierten 80er-Kult ein ernstzunehmender Sozialkommentar oder stumpfe Exploitation verstecken. Wie ein moralisch geprägter Blick des Jahres 2018 das Seherlebnis beeinflusst (Stichwort Amokläufe) und inwiefern der hier angebracht ist, soll auch nicht unerwähnt bleiben.
