Ennis Chamber says achieving purple flag accreditation for the town is testament to the wide-ranging efforts of all stakeholders in the night-time economy. The county town has achieved purple flag accreditation this year, which sees towns and cities recognised for providing a vibrant and diverse mix of dining, entertainment and culture while promoting the safety and wellbeing of visitors and residents. Ennis was the first town to the receive the purple flag in Ireland back in 2013 and maintained the accolade until the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted the country's nightlife offering. CEO of Ennis Chamber, Margaret O'Brien says the criteria to qualify are extremely high.
