With over three hundred and thirty million monthly active users, Twitter can be a great way to reach a large audience and grow your business.
One of the key benefits of using Twitter for small businesses is the ability to engage with your customers in real-time. Whether you're answering questions, responding to feedback, or sharing updates about your business, Twitter allows you to connect with your audience in a way that feels personal and authentic.
To get started on Twitter, the first thing you'll want to do is create a profile for your business. Make sure to include a clear, catchy bio that describes what your business does, as well as a link to your website. You'll also want to choose a profile picture that represents your brand.
Once your profile is set up, it's time to start tweeting! Some ideas for content to share on Twitter include:
Promotions and discounts: Tweet about any special offers or sales you're running to entice followers to make a purchase.
Behind-the-scenes glimpses: Share photos and videos that give your followers a look at what goes on in your business.
Industry news: Tweet about interesting or relevant news in your industry to demonstrate your expertise and keep your followers informed.
Customer testimonials: Share positive reviews and feedback from your customers to show the value of your products or services.
Finally, be sure to use hashtags to make it easier for people to find your tweets. For example, if you're a bakery, you might use hashtags like #bakery, #foodie, or #homemade.
Using Twitter for small businesses can be a fun and effective way to connect with customers, promote your business, and build your brand. With a little bit of effort and some creativity, you can use Twitter to grow your business and reach a larger audience.
Now Twitter is going through a bit of turmoil at the moment, so we don't know exactly how things will be with in a year's time, but what we can say, is that there's still a tonne of people on there every day. It's not as crowded for getting a message out there as Facebook is and it's changing every day.
I didn't give it much thought in 2022. But in 2023, I think there's going to be a lot of attention on Twitter. It's a place where people are rediscovering the fun of it. For me, I hated the drama on there. But the muting and blocking tools are very good at filtering out the topics I don't want to hear about, like Elon Musk, Donald Trump, politics and the so-called culture war.
If you can filter out the noise, it can be a great way to learn about new things in your industry, connect to others who are interested in what you're interested in, and find new customers in new ways that you'd not been able to achieve on Facebook and Instagram.
