Episode 16 of the podcast is now live with a very special guest Melanie Berg. On the podcast today, we also have a wonderful co-host, Lisa Sisk of This is Knit in Dublin. This podcast is brought to you on location from This is Knit in Powerscourt Townhouse in between Melanie’s Workshops in Dublin. We cover everything from Knitwear design, Melanie’s amazing shawls, her collaboration with The Yarn Collective and much more
It’s time for you to put the kettle on, grab your knitting and make yourself comfortable. Today’s show is a fun filled 50 minutes, so sit back listen and enjoy this wonderful interview.http://www.cottagenotebook.ie/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/S1E16-CLN-With-Melanie-Berg-Mairlynd.mp3
Melanie chats about her work with the Yarn Collective and the design of the Portland Lace yarn and development of the colour palette. Focusing on the grey in the collection the colour palette grew from there with pops of colour. The asymmetric shawl Secret Keeper came from a need to play with construction and shape and to allow the hand-dyed yarn to shine. Find out more in the podcast.
Melanie also lets us in on a few little secrets on how she manages to get all those beautiful Instagram images of her shawls along with how she grew from the idea of designing into a professional business. She also has a few tips for budding designers out there and how Mairlynd grew as a brand.
I really hope you enjoy today’s podcast with both Melanie and Lisa, it was a lot of fun to record in This is Knit and I hope you all get to hear more from there soon. If you have time I would love it if you could leave a comment below or leave a review in iTunes and let us know your thoughts.
