At the beginning of the semester, Professor Sushma Subramanian from English, Linguistics, and Communications, invited me to record a conversation about digital fluency and fact-checking to share with her journalism students. She graciously shared that recording with us, and now we have our second episode of Closing Tabs!
I mention Mike Caulfield‘s great work with the Digital Polarization Initiative and the accompanying Web Literacy for Student Fact-Checkers open textbook, and you should check them out, as well as the talk he gave here at UMW last year, Teaching Digital Literacy in a Post-Truth World.
Enjoy!
