It's been a fast-moving 24 hours in Venezuela -- and in Washington. On Wednesday, National Assembly leader Juan Guaido swore himself in as the country's President. The United States moved quickly to recognize him as the country's new leader, enraging incumbent Nicolas Maduro. The American intervention caught many observers off guard, with some pointing out that Donald Trump's rapid endorsement of the self-proclaimed President seemed to go against his "America First" philosophy. So is Trump genuinely interested in making change in Caracas? Or is this a move aimed at distracting from the government shutdown at home?
