On this episode, we are joined by Zach Posey. Zach is a 4th year pharmacy student at the Medical University of South Carolina. He recently received honors for his Grand Rounds presentation on this subject. We cover some background on statins, and review the potential biochemical processes involved with statin induced glucose dysregulation. We also cover a few trials that look at the risk of diabetes compared to the cardiovascular protection seen with statins.
