The city where the book of Colossians takes place was a hub for various religions, ideologies, and philosophies. Beginning with the first chapter, the Apostle Paul brings to our attention the false doctrine prevalent of the day and relevant to what we face in these modern times. We learn that being faithful in Christ teaches us to stand firm on His word. False doctrine robs us of freedom and peace, while truth is found in Jesus, who is sufficient for us.
