Have you ever wondered what it might be like to be a magician? In this episode, I had on the amazingly talented magician, Joshua Jay. Joshua became inspired when he was young after his dad showed him a magic trick and has been practicing the art of magic ever since. Joshua tells us about his new book, Magic Mail and the other books he’s written during his career. We chat about how things have shifted for him during the pandemic and what magic shows will look like in the future. He and I discuss his love for magic, his creative process and some of his favorite memories from his career. (This episode was pre-recorded on June 24, 2020)

About Joshua:

Joshua Jay is an award-winning magician, author, lecturer, Guinness World Record holder and co-founder of Vanishing Inc. Magic, one of the largest magic manufacturers in the United States. He has performed in more than 100 countries and on numerous nationally-syndicated television shows including, “The Tonight Show,” “The Late Late Show,” “The Today Show” and “Good Morning America,” and also fooled Penn and Teller on their hit television show, “Fool Us.” In 2019 Jay served as Artist-in-Residence at the University of Chicago, and gave the keynote address at Harvard's Radcliffe Institute. A graduate of Ohio State University, Jay currently resides in New York City where he most recently performed in his critically-acclaimed residency, Six Impossible Things.
