Author David Bruns has been a friend of a couple of my podcasts, but this is his first time on the Creative Writing Career podcast!

David served in the Navy and writes a range of fiction, including military inspired fiction with co-author and fellow veteran, J.R. Olsen (Weapons of Mass Deception).

Among his other amazing novels, David recently wrote the Kindle Worlds novel "Legacy Fleet: Invincible (The First Swarm War Book 1)."

On this episode, David talks about what it means to write in Kindle Worlds, how to use it to expand your reach, and other topics such as collaboration. Enjoy!

DAVID'S AUTHOR BIO

David is a recovering corporate executive who writes about sci-fi and spies.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Honors English from the United States Naval Academy. (That's not a typo. He’s probably the only English major you'll ever meet who took multiple semesters of calculus, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, naval architecture and weapons systems just so he could get to read some Shakespeare. It was totally worth it.) After graduation, he spent six years in the nuclear-powered submarine force chasing Russian submarines. When the Cold War ended, he traded in his officer’s commission for a job in high tech.

He is the creator of the sci-fi series, THE DREAM GUILD CHRONICLES, and numerous pieces of short fiction in the genre. He also writes alternate history thrillers with a retired naval intelligence officer who has some really fabulous sea stories. Their latest co-authored work is WEAPONS OF MASS DECEPTION, a novel of modern-day nuclear terrorism that looks less like fiction every time he opens the newspaper.
