A June 11 report by network and enterprise security company Palo Alto Networks has found that around 5 percent of all Monero (XMR) in circulation was mined maliciously. The mining has been done via crypto jacking, the practice of using other users’ computers’ processing power to mine for cryptocurrencies without the owners’ permission. According to a source aware of the transaction, the company’s employees have been advised not to release any information. Variety reported that some of the stakeholders have also been contacted by the transfer agent who was hired for the deal. No financial details of the acquisition have been available as of press time. IOTA and Volkswagen are demonstrating a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) that uses IOTA’s Tangle system for autonomous cars at the Cebit ‘18 Expo in Germany today, June 11th.The PoC enables Volkswagen to use IOTA’s Tangle architecture to transfer software updates “over-the-air” as part of the car manufacturer’s new “Connected Car” systems.
