Dr Tony Robinson was involved in founding the year 9 "Learning 4 Life" program at Gilson College, which attempts to create a "rite of passage" type experience for the students. The non-traditional strategies used in the program have been shown to build resilience, responsibility and respect in the participants. We also discuss the "hard" truths we must come to terms with in life that help us overcome challenges. And the values of capitalism which hinder community and selflessness.
