Trump travel ban The US Supreme Court has ruled in favour of a travel ban targeting people from five Muslim-majority countries and North Korea. Some Venezualen officials are also banned. It was a win for US President Donald Trump. He campaignd on a promise of "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States," until immigration legislation was changed. The court ruled five to four in a decision that backs Trump's attempt to make that happen. One of the justices who voted 'no' was Sonia Sotomayor. She said the Trump ban targeted Muslims for the most part. And she said the ruling had "stark parallels" with the court's World War Two decision to allow the US to lock up Japanese-Americans. Rohingya targeted Amnesty International is calling for the International Crimininal Court to try senior Myanmar military officials for crimes against humanity over the treatment of Rohingya minorities. Some 700,000 mostly Rohingya Muslims have fled to Bangladesh since a military crackdown across the border. The UN called the Myanmar military's actions a "textbook example of ethnic cleansing." Battle for Daraa The UN says at least 45,000 people have fled an upsurge in fighting in Syria's southwestern Daraa province. Most of them are heading towards Jordan. But Jordan has said it won't open its border to the refugees fleeing the war zone. The fighting is in parts of Daraa that are still under rebel control. The area where the fighting is, is meant to be a de-escalation zone agreed by by Russia, the US and Jordan. Qatar v UAE The UN's top court has begun hearing a lawsuit by Qatar accusing the United Arab Emirates of discrimination. Qatar filed the lawsuit earlier this month at the International Court of Justice at The Hague. It comes a year after the UAE joined a Saudi-led boycott of Doha. The UAE denies the allegations. The four countries boycotting Qatar say they're now going to file a counter-suit at the ICJ against the tiny but wealthy Gulf state. World Cup And finally, In World Cup football, it's all about Groups E and F today. In Group F, South Korea face Germany, with neither team assured of a final 16 berth. Mexico face Sweden. Mexico are already through, but Sweden not yet. In Group E, Serbia take on Brazil. Serbia need a win to advance, while Brazil need at least a draw. Switzerland play Costa Rica, and still have a chance to go through. Costa Rica are out of contention, but could still spoil it for Switzerland. All very clear, right?!
