“In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.”
Acts 2:17

Key ideas and scriptures from today’s podcast.

1. The Holy Spirit reignites our God-designed purpose.

At Pentecost, we remember and consider the implications of God pouring out His Holy Spirit on all people and how that changes everything about our current reality.

When we are filled with the Spirit of God, He reignites the purpose He has put in each one of us.

2. God is not done with you yet.

Your life may have come to a really hard place, but God is not done with you yet. I know He’s not done with me yet.

It doesn’t matter where you’re at right now. You may be young and frustrated because you have a vision and it’s not quite getting there. Or you’re an older man or woman, and your dreams never seem to have come to fruition.

But take heart, God is not finished with you yet. This promise is articulated well by Paul in Philippians 1:6.

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (NIV)

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (NLT)

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. MSG

3. Trust that God is faithful no matter what.

We may not see a lot of the things we hope for and desire in the natural realm. But His encouragement to us is the same that he gave to David in Psalm 31:5 “Father into your hands, I commit my Spirit.” (Psalm 31:5) [I say this prayer often, especially before leading worship! ]

And on the cross as Jesus was giving His life for us, these were the last seven words Jesus spoke: “Father into your hands, I commit my Spirit.”. (Luke 23:46).

4. The Lord will fulfill all His promises.

If we commit our hearts, our minds, our spirits to the Lord – no matter what happens, He will bring about the dreams and visions that we have, whether it’s in the natural realm or in the eternal realm.

Every promise that is of God will come forth and will bear fruit.

See Isaiah 55:10-12

…10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;

11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

12 “For you will go out with joy And be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.…

5. So – DREAM BIG!

God has assigned a purpose, a duty, a field of influence – to each of us. (2 Corinthians 10:13)

Our mission, our stewardship responsibility is “To whom much is given, much is required.” (Luke 12:48)

So dream big!

Put all of your heart, your soul, your energy, into accomplishing the things that God has put you here on the earth to do.

That is my commitment. And I pray it will yours also!

The Lord be with you today!

Let’s pray.
