Dennis visits the LA home/studio space of photographer John Ganun whose company, Scenario Photography specializes in high-end photo set ups--they're not booths--for special events. He talks about the company's humble beginnings with ping pong and underwear, what sets Scenario apart, doing Katy Perry's birthday party for seven years in a row, how social media and digital photography came along and changed the game. He talks about his most popular scenario--the Fred Astaire-inspired upside-down room--and how he goes about getting people in the right position to make it look cool. He talks about shooting for the high-end market and sticking to his guns price-wise, telling dumb jokes to get his subjects to laugh, refusing to use props if they don't make sense and his sexiest scenario shoot. He also recalls his days as an actor in Broadway shows like Will Rogers Follies, working on the Grand Princess cruise ship, his lowest point professionally--it involves a Mobil gas station, his most glamorous night, the first album he bought, his first Canon camera, shooting pics of the American Idols, his special talent for being able to walk down a flight of stairs like a showgirl. www.scenariophoto.com
