Day 201 of the podcast, reading Ecclesiastes 5-8 NET, read along at:
This is day 201 of our journey.
In today's reading we are continually reminded that, in the end, all men die. While we may have vastly different experiences here on earth, in the grand scheme of things, rich and poor, rulers and peasants, wise and foolish will all meet the same end. God's ways are greater than ours and we cannot, through wisdom or any earthly means, determine what will happen. The best we can do in this life is to be thankful for what we have and to avoid the endless worry and stress that comes with trying to gain wealth or power. Be content with what God has provided and enjoy life!
Join me in Ecclesiastes 5-8 and enjoy your gifts!

It is better to be content with what the eyes can see than for one’s heart always to crave more. This continual longing is futile – like chasing the wind.
For wisdom provides protection, just as money provides protection. But the advantage of knowledge is this:Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.
Even though a sinner might commit a hundred crimes and still live a long time, yet I know that it will go well with God-fearing people – for they stand in fear before him.
