This week on Digital Music Trends it was a real pleasure to welcome Jessie Scoullar (@WicksteedWorks) and Matthew Hawn (@jukevox).

Although we recorded a few hours before the announcement of YouTube Music Key (that’s one for next week) we do cover YouTube’s deal Merlin and ponder whether that may convince more indies to jump on board.

We obviously have to chat about the other big story which is Taylor Swift’s stance on streaming and Daniel Ek’s response on the Spotify blog.

During the show we also cover the launch of the MTV Trax app as a partnership between MTV and MusicQbed, Kobalt’s CEO talking about transparency, SoundCloud’s deal with Warner, the BMI reassuring Pandora that the major publishers will stay on as clients, SoundHound’s redesigned app, the new Composed classical music streaming service, Amanda Palmer’s “The Art of Asking” and much more…

I really hope you enjoy this episode, have a fantastic week and ’till next time!
