This week I was joined by Melissa Witmer via Skype to discuss training, the Ultimate Athlete Project and lot more. In the world of training for ultimate Melissa is one of the first names to think of. Melissa is possibly best known for her work on Ulty Results. A big part of Ulty Results is the Ultimate Athlete Project (UAP), which is a year-round program designed to train athletes starting from their off-season all the way through the club season. Ulty Results also includes her six-week speed, agility and conditioning program (6-week SAQ), and the Ulty Results Coaching Academy Conference. And now she is adding another project to Ulty Results focusing on skill development.

In our conversation, we covered a lot of ground starting with Melissa's background and the start of the Ultimate Athlete Project. We quickly got into training and what typical players should be focusing on. There is some really great stuff about what you should be doing for speed workouts. There is also a lot of stuff about international ultimate, spirit of the game and working on your mental game.

This has been one of my favorite episodes to record so far so I really hope you enjoy it. As always if you please check us out on Facebook or Twitter and you can subscribe to us on iTunes, Google Play or however you get your podcasts.
