Amy Bickers faced immense tragedy when her ex-husband committed suicide in front of her.

Amy began journaling as a way to make sense of the tragedy and that led her to write a memoir about finding her way through that experience.

The Geography of You and Me is set to publish in September 2015. You can pre-order the book at http://amybickers.com

In this conversation for episode 2 of the Discover Grow Shinecast, Amy and I talk about the power of writing as a catharsis for dealing with tragedy and finding hope in the darkness.

We cover a lot of territory beyond writing: From Anne Lamott to George Clooney to asking and giving help and kindness to others.

This is the perfect companion to episode 1, where Dr. Scott Hammond shared the lessons of the lost based on stories of survivors he met through his work with the Rocky Mountain Rescue Dogs association.
