Based on the classic novel by Jules Verne, 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA was the first film produced by Buena Vista following many years with RKO. Released in December of 1954 the film was a bonafide hit for the studio. Over the years the imagery of the film has stood the test of time with the design of the Nautilus by Harper Goff shaping the way Captain Nemo's ship is seen to this day. Does the film as a whole hold up though? We discuss the film and put our three questions up to it. Does the film hold up? What is the iconic shot? Does the film have a moral message or does it aim for an emotional response? Does it have both? Neither? All that and more as we are once again joined by Ryan Wilson of the Main Street Gazette!
