Elderberries and Viburnums like High Bush Cranberry and Arrowood are all members of the Honeysuckle family and all are extremely nutritious berries and are common both domesticated and in the wild.

All are high in Vitamin C, Elderberry having more Vitamin C than Oranges or Tomatoes. High Bush Cranberry is high in pectin which can be extracted and used to make jams and jellies. They have a very low glycemic index, and Elderberry has three times the protein of Blueberries. All are packed with beneficial antioxidants and other phytonutrients.

Some Viburnums contain salycin, a natural pain reliever, and Elderberries are the go-to remedy for colds and flus being extremely anti-viral.

Listen to the podcast as we explore all of the beneficial attributes of these berries, as well as how to grow, harvest, and use them.
