Domestic labor- traditionally feminine and unpaid or undervalued- has increased even as other markers of gender-based equality have (slowly) improved in the United States. Why is this? Why do gender roles and expectations persist so strongly in cis-het households, and for single women? And what are the individual and systemic ways we can work toward more equality?
