Guest bio

Helen is a mother of seven children aged between 16 and 4. She is in the middle of her third owner builder project, all on one home in southern Sydney. Her renovation adventures started ten years ago, when she and her husband had ‘only’ four munchkins to manage.

After learning a ton the first time round, the owner builder decision became an easy choice when the family was bursting at the seams again in 2018. Her building projects combine an emphasis on practicality - meeting her family’s specific lifestyle needs - with a wish for cost saving and a desire to take ownership of the whole process, including any mistakes along the way.

Helen is the owner of Haluna Happy Names, which turns everyday items into cherished gifts through colourful and fun personalised designs that include an option for names and slogans written in Arabic.
