HOW TO HANDLE BEING NERVOUS BEFORE A PERFORMANCE. ⁣

Okay, so the other day I got a message about what to do, if feeling nervous before a recording. ⁣

A recording can be many different things: a podcast recording, video, production, online live courses/sessions or so on - so I thought that would be a great topic to bring up and cover for this evening. ⁣

This is a picture from a shooting at Mallorca, some years ago, but I still remember the excitement that arises before shooting for big clients, and therefore I find the emotional reaction exactly the same; whether it’s a recording or a photoshoot, like here. ⁣

After 15 years in front of a camera (in different fields) I’ve learned a thing or to about how to handle the emotions and not letting them destroy your performance. ⁣

1. Make peace with your feelings by accepting them ⁣

2. Know that all feelings rises and passes ⁣

3. Be prepared as good as you can⁣

4. Do your best ⁣

5. Show up and give it your all ⁣

6. Dive into it ASAP and kick ass, instead of holding yourself back or waiting for your body to relax naturally. Sometimes I really find that you have to: ⁣

7. Fake it until you make it ⁣

Good luck! xx J ⁣
