Tony Award-nominee Ethan Slater ("Spongebob Squarepants: The Broadway Musical," "Fosse/Verdon" Boq in the "Wicked" movie) joins David on this episode of "E-Ticket to Broadway" to discuss yet another very lovable, friendly, animated icon. From his early days of watching "Bambi" and knowing he was going to love "The Little Mermaid," Ethan was certainly affected by Disney as a kid--and realizes it more and more throughout the episode. He shares his absolute love of the movie "Newsies," and performs an incredible impression of Christian Bale as Jack Kelly (and discusses how he used to tumble in his house pretending to be an actual Newsie), watching "Aladdin" twelve times in a row, and enjoying "the Alan Menken of it all." Though Ethan may continue to find himself as "Disney adjacent," he recalls a touching memory of going to Walt Disney World with his family--how much it meant to him, and how terrified he was of Space Mountain. He dives deep into his thoughts as to why animated characters affect us so deeply, reveals his connection to the "Toy Story" movies, and puts on his Imagineering hat to design "The Spongebob Squarepants Adventure" attraction--before playing everyone's favorite game, "Spongebob or Mickey Mouse?" Ethan also shares some thoughts about a hypothetical trip to Walt Disney World with his "Edge of the World" co-stars, his love of classic Hollywood, and what job Spongebob would want at a Disney Theme Park.
