An immigration lawyer is concerned about a possible review of the country's skilled migrants policy.
The Immigration Minister's flagged a possible review, with the Skilled Migrants Category consideration to restart expression of interest selections deferred until the end of next month.
Lawyer Mike McMellon told Kate Hawkesby he wants to know what that means for people who've already applied.
"It could mean people who've already applied, might no longer meet the criteria for skilled migrants residency anymore."
McMellon says there's currently about 11,000 cases waiting to be assigned a case officer.
He says that's a lot for when the programme gets going again.
