It is 1989, those without work hit a new low in the UK. Britain’s dock workers go on strike. Madonna causes outrage at the MTV Awards and The Monkees reunite and are then given a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. There’s music in the album charts from Tom Petty and Transvision Vamp.

The singles chart sees Norman Cook and Members of Beautiful South breakaway from The Housemartins. Bette Midler goes ‘flying’ into the Top 30. New entries from De La Soul, Pet Shop boys and Kirsty MacColl. At the top Prince, Soul II Soul, Beautiful South are reaching for the top spot. With Top 20 hits from Guns n Roses, Sonia, Queen, U2 and London Boys. It’s one for the memories. Enjoy!
