How To Openly Accept Being Paid In Your Business PT 3

As we said last week, if you want to run a business you need one big thing to make it work: money.

The hardest thing about money when you’re a Christian (and female) is:

  1. To fight against what some churches preach about how bad money is and that it’s hard to get into heaven if you have it. (I will address this later on the blog)
  2. We have huge insecurities from our upbringing and past that lead us to believe that we’re not worth anything. It’s really scary to talk about money and even worse – ASK TO BE PAID FOR WHAT IS RIGHTLY YOURS. This is the same in business and a job BTW.
  3. Our general values on money and what it represents i.e. When people see someone who is rich they think greed, bad, lies, cheat and become jealous yet judgmental. But what they don’t realise is that a lot of rich people have the biggest, most generous hearts EVER. Typically the Christian ones.
  4. The perceived impression that women know nothing about money. (But if you don’t feel like you know much about money, then you REALLY need to book in with a session with me, and I will give you some tips on where to start educating yourself about money). Just because you’re a woman it doesn’t mean you can’t learn about money.

So these four points are what we are going to speak about over the next couple of weeks. Because let’s face it, they are huge and each element is its own article.

The first and second points we already spoke on in the previous two Podcasts.

Let’s look at number three – Our general values on money and what it represents.

I.e. When people see someone who is rich they think greed, bad, lies, cheat and become jealous yet judgmental. But what they don’t realise is that a lot of rich people have the biggest, most generous hearts EVER. Typically the Christian ones.

This one is a simple change of mindset on how you see yourself and other people.

God needs entrepreneurs, investors and business owners in His kingdom. They bring a huge amount of money to churches and have the power to influence a lot of people.

Yes, there may be greedy people out in the world, but just because they are greedy, it doesn’t mean that you are.

How cool would it be if you could have one million dollars spare that could be used to bless a charity or have influence on a TV channel? That’s very doable if you put your hand up for God and say YES!

Yes, I am willing to be a good steward of your money that you bring through my business or investments. Yes, I am willing to work harder than normal people to fight for God, and yes, I am open to the possibility of God using me with money for good.

The world runs on money and that’s just the way it is. You have a choice – you can spend the rest of your life in a poverty mindset and block God from using you, or you could open yourself up to the adventure. God loves people who put themselves out there for Him.

The questions for you would be:

How can I learn more about the game of money?

Am I doing the best in my business for God?

How can I have a better mindset towards how I see people with money?

Know that it’s ok for you to have money. Know that it’s ok to have a generous mindset, and know that it’s ok to do what you are doing, having a business and pushing forward for God.

Think each day – how can you change your perception of how you see wealth?

Say to yourself:

“It’s ok for me to have money as long as Jesus is at the front of my heart.”

“I can use my money for good, to make more money for God’s kingdom and have good influence on the world.”

“I give myself permission to have this.”

And see what God does in your life. Your body and mind are a temple. Feed them good thoughts and get your head in the word.
