On this episode of en(gender)ed, we have two guests, Maria Mayo and Nadia Dawisha, co-founders of the online group called “Brock Turner for Prison.” Maria is a survivor of rape and domestic violence as well as a practicing attorney who proposed a class on “Sexual Violence and the Law" when she attended law school). Nadia is a former professor and worked on Ohio’s victims’ rights legislation. Maria and Nadia have been running the "Brock Turner for Prison" page since June 2016 to address issues of sexual violence and violence against women in the media and the site has grown now to over 25 admins, a Twitter and an Instagram account. Brock Turner for Prison will also be launching a website and a podcast in the near future.

We speak to Maria and Nadia today about their Facebook group and a response to the Brock Turner rape case, the subsequent recall of the judge on that case, Aaron Persky, and Brock Turner's most recent failed appeal.
