One hundred episodes.

This is a landmark that I don't think either of us ever realized we would or could get to with podcasting, but here we are... now in triple digits, one hundred episodes strong. We couldn't have done it without each and every single one of our amazing listeners out there, and you have our eternal gratitude and thanks.

One of the things that has marveled me, whenever I go back to listen to old episodes or pick out old bloopers for post-credits material, is just how much the Epic Film Guys podcast has evolved in that time. We started out on episode one with just me, Epic Film Guy Nick, talking into a phone. Hell, the original episodes were posted in a folder on Google Drive, we didn't get an actual host until around episode six. Over time, we slowly evolved... from cheap headset microphones in the late single-digits and early teens, to Justin buying me the Yeti, to Justin getting his own Yeti, then to the ATR-2100s, and now to where we have the mixer and soundboard and can do the livestreams.

In that spirit, I wanted episode 100 to be a celebration of where the Epic Film Guys have been, and hopefully, a look ahead to what awaits us as we continue to evolve. So I went through each and every episode of the podcast and cut out approximately one minute of audio and stitched it together into a tapestry that represents the evolution of a podcast. The evolution of the Epic Film Guys, where we started with the Reel Rundown podcast, to our rebranding and the podcast taking over as the primary entertainment content that we release.

I cut the "minutes" for the show from the episodes in sequence, so minute one is the first minute of episode one, minute two is the second minute of episode two, and so on. For the most part this wasn't an issue until a few of the higher episode numbers, where a shorter runtime forced me to cull through and just take a good minute of audio from somewhere within it. You'll hear the evolution of our audio, from some extremely rocky starts (which I tried my best to make presentable w/ my current sound production knowledge) to the very smooth and balanced sound we've worked hard to achieve. You'll hear promos, segment intro pieces, and a ton of the guests we've had the pleasure of welcoming onto the podcast over the last two years. I did my best to edit them together so they'd have something of a flow, and some breaks are less noticeable than others, but I think it does a great job of showcasing how the show has evolved, in terms of content presentation and quality.

So, please enjoy episode 100, and I cannot say it enough, but thank you to each and every single one of you out there who has ever plugged us into your ears. This one is for you; and as an extra-special bonus, this one's goin' up early.
