Qingshan King Sacrificial Ceremony Festival-Top 3 Festivals of Taipei, Taiwan

The Qingshan King Festival is held every year in the Wanhua District of Taipei usually falling in November or December for 3 days.

It's considered one of the top 3 folk festivals of Taipei alongside the Baosheng Emperor Parade and Xiahai City God Cultural Festival.

The Qingshan Temple in Wanhua was a haven during a plague shortly after many immigrants from

Quanzhou, China arrived in Taiwan. The temple was a place to pray for safety and the health of the community and ever since a festival honoring the Qingshan King deity has taken place in the district.

A procession moves through the neighborhood inspecting the streets and alleys to ensure the safety of residents and businesses.

This video features a lion dance in front of the more famous Longshan Temple of Wanhua or the Monga, (Taiwanese), neighborhood. I will post another highlight video from last year's Qinshan Festival in Taipei.
