This latest episode of Fast Keto is all about instinctive eating and how keto helped me restore my body’s hormonal signalling for hunger and fullness. In the episode I cover a definition of intuitive eating, 4 different aspects of the definition, and some of the basic biochemistry behind peptide and steroid hormones and how a nutrient dense ketogenic or low carb diet can support proper hormone function and signalling. High carb diets that are also low in fat and don’t properly emphasize protein can disrupt the body’s ability to maintain homeostasis, as well as not provide the protein and fats as precursors to those peptide and steroid hormones in the first place. Ghrelin and leptin are two hormones that regulate appetite and help signal hunger and fullness. Did you get to listen? Let me know if you had any insights or take aways from it! Love you guys!
