The Beatiudes, found in Matthew 5, are a collection of eight blessings pronounced by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. They outline the character and values of those who belongto the Kingdom of God. These statements are more than mere platitudes; they offer a radical countercultural blueprint for living. Each Beatitude begins ith "Blessed are..." and is followed by a description of a spiritual quality and the corresponding divine reward. Together, they present a portrait of a disciple's life marked by humility, copassion, purity, and peacmaking, even in the face of adversity.
