Hey, what's happening? It's your boy Breezy. We are locked in and live today with a brand new episode of Fitness Profits. Today, we're going to be talking about building authority in your local area with live streams. Super excited that Instagram just revealed their live feature for everyday people like me and you, right? Celebrities have had it for a while. It just shows, over and over again, that live stream is the way to go. Not the way to go, but it is the way that things are going.

You look, it started with a few different applications. Periscope, Blab, around about maybe 18 months, two years ago. That was the big thing. Then Facebook introduced Facebook Live for influencers and people who had authorised profiles. Then basically it trickled down to everyday people. Now, if you look at the reach on a live stream versus a video that you post, Facebook will give much more cadence towards the live stream as opposed to the posted, prerecord video which tells you that they favour live stream. It tells you that that's the way that you should go with your marketing, right?

Too many people are too romantic about the way that they market their business. They get attached to a certain method, a certain thing, a certain way of doing stuff. Quite honestly, if you don't pivot and adapt, and you look at Facebook as a platform, if you're not doing live streams, you're missing out. They have the ability to have people subscribe to your live streams. If they watch you live every day, then what will happen is people can actually click a subscribe button after that live. You can build an audience within your live stream within Facebook, which is just crazy.

Number two, live is more difficult than prerecorded video, right? People appreciate that it's live so they get to see the real you. They know it's not the edited version. They know it's not the censored version. It's you live with a camera, with a phone, and the nice thing about it is even if you screw up, you mess up, you stumble over your words, well it shows humanistic elements, right? It shows that you're human. It's likely that your audience wouldn't do a live stream or they'll struggle with it. You have bond and synergy through that.

Thirdly, I think it's a mistake sometimes or a mistake to rely upon highly polished content all of the time. I hire a videographer to come and do work with us, but I also pick up my phone and do live streams. I understand the value of getting information out there that's not super polished all the time. When I think back to when I first got started in this coaching business and helping people, there were the clients and me. We were quite close together in people's minds.

As I became more successful with it, the distance grew. We were in Barcelona with our intensive, I shared my story and it shocked me. Number one, a bunch of people didn't realise my background and, number two, how much they appreciated me sharing my story. You might be looking at me thinking, Chris has got all his shit together. It's all right for Chris saying what he's saying, but he's never struggled like I have. I can tell you that's not the case. I've had multiple times over where I've felt like walking away from this industry. Shutting our gym, quitting completely, stepping out of the coaching industry because of traumas, troubles and challenges. I haven't got all my shit together.

Anybody who tells you they've got all their shit together, anybody who shows a perfect persona and a polished appearance, I can tell you right now, are frauds. Who in hell has their life together 100 million percent, right? They don't. Not a single person on the planet, no matter who they are, has everything dialled in. Live stream allows you to bond with your audience in a way that is unique and never been available before. Think about it. The ability to broadcast live with an audience a few years ago, you would have to do something like a webinar. You'd have to then get people to that webinar or a teleconference. You'd have to get people to there.

Now, you already have a base of followers, a base of people who know who you are, and you can go live within a second. The fastest way to build your authority locally, I'd say, is through live streams right now because of the reach potential that Facebook are putting towards it. Normal video content's great. It's not going to reach nowhere near as many people as your live content. That, quite honestly, is the number one reason to double down on live right now.

Here's the thing as well. If you're struggling to think of content, think context. I covered this in another podcast issue, but tell stories, share your experiences about, I don't know, whatever you've done this weekend. Share your experiences about helping clients get great results. Share client studies and stories. Finish a session, get a live stream with a client and quickly do an interview. There are tonnes of ways to create content. I think sometimes we think content is just pure information, sharing good information with people, and that's not the case.

Great content is often entertainment with a little bit of insight. The more that you can share through live, what you're doing, your life and everything, people will bond with you, the character, the authority. Not you the service. When they trust you, they know you and they bond with you, then they'll buy your service. It's unlikely that they have no ... I mean if they don't have a bond with you, they're not necessarily going to buy from you, right?

There are a bunch of people that I get to work with and are like, "Chris, whatever you're selling, I want to be part of it. I want to be part of you. I want to work with you because I've seen the transition that you've had in your own life. I've seen what you've been through. I've seen where you've gone to. I've seen what you've been able to do with other people's lives. I don't know what it is that you sell or what you've got going on, but I want to be part of that mastermind elite thing." That's basically just because I share regularly through live streams.

Now, obviously I've got this podcast which is another channel for me to share this stuff. Sat here in my studio, my purpose-built studio, I basically put this together so I could share messages with you daily, almost daily or weekly, with intimacy but also just ranty, sharing off the top of my head, all right? That's it. Today, why you should use live stream to grow your authority in your local area and how to do it. I think you're missing out on a huge opportunity if you don't.

It's your boy Breezy, superfitbusiness.com. If you're looking for help to grow your fitness business, to five, 10 ... By five, 10 or 15, 20k per month, then let's have a chat. Whether you're operating online, offline right now, I'd love to have a conversation about how we can help you grow and see if we're a natural fit to work with each other, all right? That's it for today. How to use live streams to grow your authority. Your boy Breezy, locked down and live. I shall be back very soon. Take care, bye bye.
