Today, we continued with our teaching on The Priestly Blessing, also known as the Aaronic Benediction. This blessing is said at the end of service in synagogues around the world. But, it has so much significance to us as believers. We went over the second phrase -

and make His face to shine upon you and be gracious you.

To have God’s face to shine upon us means that His attention is turned toward you, he isn’t ignoring you and he is there to help you. We have favor with God. I have included a link, below, to Graham Cooke’s website. He has an awesome teaching on God’s favor. In fact, the name of it is The Favor Series.

Much of the church does not understand the difference between grace and mercy. They are not interchangable. Grace is God’s strength to overcome our circumstances, sin, whatever. It has been defined as unmerited favor.

Yeshua said, “My grace is sufficient for you; for my power is brought to perfection in weakness.” It is through the grace of God that we can overcome.

When God is gracious to us, we, again, have favor. Sounds like a double portion to me! We need a double portion is these last days, guys.

Some of the benefits of God’s favor are (used with permission from Bob Wilson at bobwilsonmusic.org)

  • Supernatural increase and promotion (Genesis 39:21)
  • Restoration of all the enemy has stolen (Exodus 3:21)
  • Honor in the midst of adversaries (Exodus 11:3)
  • Increased assets, especially real estate (Deuteronomy 33:23)
  • Greater victories in the midst of greater odds or impossibilities (Joshua 11:20)
  • Recognition even when I seem to be the least likely to receive it (I Samuel 16:22)
  • Prominence and preferential treatment (Esther 2:17)
  • Petitions granted even by ungodly civil authorities (Esther 5:8)
  • Policies, rules, regulations, laws changed to my advantage (Esther 8:5)
  • Battles won I won’t have to fight because God fights for me (Psalm 44:3)

What awesome promises!

You also will want to hear the program (for any of you Trekkies) if you have ever wanted to know why Mr. Spock did his hand thing. Remember? Live long and prosper.

Okay, this blessing just gets better and better. May God show you his favor and make his face to shine upon you.

Shalom.
