Buckle up, Fresh Geeks!
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 premiered May 5, 2017! We watched it! We loved it! In this episode, we review it with non-spoilers in the first half, then Learning Time with Guardians of the Galaxy comic origins and the spoilers after that!
We also have the final numbers for the weekend. Guardians Volume 2 earned over $145 million in the United States. That makes Marvel Studios’ fifteenth straight No. 1 opening at the domestic box office. I’m sure Marvel belongs in Guinness World Records for consecutive number 1 debuting at the top. Vol. 2 also earned $428 million world wide. This makes Marvel’s fifth biggest opening and a grand total of $11 billion worldwide since they started with Iron Man nine years ago.
We seriously loved this movie! Listen here and let us know what you thought of the freakin’ Guardians second run in the comments or on Twitter.
Enjoy,
Jace & Josh
