On the Geektown Radio podcast this week we have all the latest UK TV news, air date information, and a first for us, as we interview a stunt coordinator for the first time! In this case, we're chatting Cort Hessler, the Emmy winning man behind the action on 'The Blacklist'.

Cort L. Hessler III (to use his full name) has just landed his 10th Emmy nomination for 'Outstanding Stunt Coordination For A Drama Series' for his work on 'The Blacklist', making him the most Emmy nominated Stunt Coordinator. He previously won once in 2014, also for 'The Blacklist', and has been nominated every year since then.

For Cort, one of the reasons why he thinks he keeps getting nominated is because he uses very minimal CGI with his work. All of the things he does are in camera and on screen. So when someone falls off a building, it is a real person falling off the building. When the cars are crashing, the cars really crash. He wants to makes it as authentic as possible. He also directed an episode of the show last season, which is a rarity for people in his field.

His other work includes 'Sneaky Pete', 'The Good Fight' & 'The Good Wife', 'Blue Bloods', 'Burn Notice', 'ER', 'SeaQuest 2032' and 'Superboy'.

Also On This Week's Show:

Matt from Entertainment Talk returns to the show so we chat about tv shows and films we've been watching since he was last on.

We take a look at all the latest tv & film news, including the latest renewals & cancellations, the new HBO ‘Watchmen’ series, Joel Kinnaman's new job, and the casting on Spock on ‘Star Trek: Discovery’.

We give you our recommendations for upcoming TV in the next 7 days.
