We talk with McCormick Emge and Walker King, two seniors at the Charleston County School of the Arts (Charleston, SC) who play keys and guitar in a jazz band called Fusion Jonez. We talk about how they started the band and arrived on the band name, thoughts to overcome fear of public speak and performing, advice for musicians, and guidance to find your passion in life.

McCormick Emge (18) is a senior at Charleston County School of the Arts, where he majors in piano and plays the keyboard in the SOA Jazz Band. With Fusion Jonez, McCormick uses his background in classical, jazz, and contemporary music to help craft the unique sound of the 7-piece funk fusion band. Outside of music, he is a dedicated student, avid outdoorsman, and self-proclaimed aviation geek.

Walker King (17) is a senior at Charleston County School of the Arts, where he majors in band, plays trombone/euphonium and is the lead guitarist in the SOA Jazz Band. With Fusion Jonez, he uses his knowledge in jazz voicing and rhythmic patterns to create funky fresh licks and hard hitting rhythms. This combined with rock influences helps create the original sound that everyone has come to love about Fusion Jonez. Outside of music, he spends time with his family, girlfriend, plays hockey, skateboards, but most of all continues to practice every day at the guitar. He strives to live by his dad's words of wisdom, "If you truly think no is better than you, then what pushes you to want to achieve more?" ---Generation Giants Podcast is a personal development podcast with a vision of seeing a rising generation become more than you ever thought capable and do more than you ever thought possible.---Contribute to the Show: https://goo.gl/pJKqbb---Subscribe on iTunes (Apple) // Subscribe on Stitcher or Google Play (Android) // Subscribe on YouTube!---Instagram: @generationgiantspodcast // Facebook: @generationgiantspodcast // Twitter: @GeGiPodcast // Website: www.generationgiants.com
